The UCW 2009 Year End Awards are off and running. Several people have already come onto the site to vote. If you haven't voted yet then you have until Jan 1st, 2010 to make your vote. A little later on we are going to go in-depth into some of the categories.

The first few dates of 2010 have been announced including the Caverna 13 supershow in February. First off UCW kicks off 2010 in Somerset, KY at Dave's After Dark. on Sunday January 3rd. We then roll into Monticello, KY on Saturday January 16th at The National Guard Armory. On Saturday night February 13th we return to Horse Cave, KY at The Caverna High School Gym for the "13th Annual Caverna Supershow." On this night we celebrate several things. It just happens to be on February 13th that we will celebrate the thirteenth Caverna show as well as the thirteenth year of Ultimate Championship Wrestling. Big news and information on Caverna 13 will be made public in the coming days so please stay connected to us to find out all the news.

In case you haven't seen, we have an exclusive interview with Randall Shane on our main page of the website. Shane talks about his stay in UCW this year as well as the controversy around his loss of the Southern States title back in October.

We have also named the first "Superstar of the Month." Make sure you check out that page to see who it is!

Now we are going to break down the categories and nominees for the 2009 Year End Awards.

Let's first take a look at the "Wrestler of the Year" category. We have Jeff Crowe, Jon Rock, Justin Sane, JD Thunder, Randall Shane and Mitch Ryder. Jeff Crowe started off the year as the FIRST UCW Ultimate Champion, battled Jerry Lawler at Caverna XII, feuded with his friend and protege Jon Roc and then regained the UCW Ultimate title at the end of the Summer. Jon Rock started off the year just trying to get into the title hunt. He won a contenders match and cashed it in at the right time. He won the title via forfeit from Gary Valiant and had very successful defenses against the likes of Valiant, Chase Stevens, Mitch Ryder and more. However, he lost a loser leaves UCW match and hasn't been seen since September. Justin Sane is just as popular as ever. Has had notable feuds with John Noble, Jon Roc, Val Joiner, and is now feuding with Mitch Ryder. JD Thunder has won tag team gold twice this year, became the 2009 King of the Squared Circle in Hopkinsville, KY and came close to winning the Southern States Championship on two occasions. Randall Shane came into UCW on his first night and won tag team gold. Then while holding the UCW Tag Team title became the Southern States Champion making him a duel champion. Held a championship for 8 months out of the year. Feuded with his own partner JD Thunder, Val Joiner, Aaron Genesis and The Wild Boys. Mitch Ryder came into UCW on fire winning a title shot in his second match. Came up short then turned on the fans. He did gain the Southern States title back in October.

Next week we will look at the "UCW Tag Team of the Year", "Women of the Year" and "Newcomer of the Year."

Update 11/19/09

Hello UCW wrestling fans! Again, sorry for the long delay in updating our news section. A lot of things have been going on in and around UCW as well in the office. It has been hectic just like 2009 has been a hectic year for Ultimate Championship Wrestling. As 2009 comes closer and closer to an end we have to look back at the great things this year has brought us. This has been one of UCW's most successful years ever. With that said, we along with you the fans, are going to make 2010 even better and bring the UCW name to more wrestling fans not only in Kentucky but in other states as well. Day by day UCW is getting stronger and stronger and we have you the great wrestling fans to think for that. For going on thirteen years we have been providing great wrestling action throughout the state of Kentucky to you, the greatest wrestling fans in the world. If it wasn't for you, then we would not be here today. So for that, we here at Ultimate Championship Wrestling just want to say thank you! Now, with that said, on to the news!

A lot has been going on since out last news update so, let's try to catch up shall we.

In the past two months we have had three successful debuts in three new towns. First off, on October 9th we invaded Lebanon Junction, KY and had a great turnout with some very energetic fans. The following night we headed to Glasgow, KY as we debuted at The Ralph Bunche-Liberty District Community Center in front of a great crowd. Although some actions from that night were somewhat controversial it was a great night of UCW action. Then on Sunday November 8th we debuted in Somerset, KY at Dave's After Dark in front of yet another energetic crowd. We want to thank all the venues and the fans for having us. Dates are already confirmed for our return to all three towns and will be released at a later date.

Two titles changed hands in Glasgow, KY and one was held up. First off, "Simply Marvelous" Mitch Ryder defeated Randall Shane in controversial fashion to become the new Southern States champion. Randall Shane, who was going into the match with a 102 degree temperature, was kicked in the head early on and was knocked unconscious. Instead of calling the match off, Referee Mike Justice allowed Mitch Ryder to cover Shane for the pin fall victory to claim the Southern States title. Shane eventually came to and made it to the back on his own. Later on, Sinn-D regained the UCW Women's Championship from Amanda Ruffen in  UCW's first ever "Ladies Strap-Match." During the match, Referee Mike Justice made some questionable calls and when he was on the outside was strapped himself by the leather belts.

In the main event of the evening, it seemed that Doug Vines & JD Thunder had become the new UCW Tag Team Champions. However, Referee Mike Justice again made a questionable call and disqualified Doug Vines thus awarding the match to The Wild Boys. UCW Promoter, Terry England said he had enough and suspended Mike Justice and held up the UCW Tag Team titles. He announced a rematch for the titles for October 24th in Tompkinsville, KY. In that rematch Vines and Thunder did indeed become the new UCW Tag Team Champions.

Mike Justice returned to UCW action at our Somerset debut event on November 8th. Justice has recruited several clients to be apart of his new "Brotherhood of Justice" group. So far that list includes, "Simply Marvelous" Mitch Ryder, "The One & Only" Val Joiner & Shane Smalls.

Someone a lot of people are talking about is UCW newcomer "Big" Seth LeDuc. The Canadian from Thunder Bay, Ontario has been on somewhat of a roll since making his UCW debut. During the Summer LeDuc was seen as the bodyguard for Val Joiner & Aaron Genesis and disappeared for a few months. He made his in ring debut during the Hopkinsville, KY Fair Show in the "King of the Squared Circle" Battle Royal and made a good impression. He then returned to a UCW ring in Lebanon Junction, KY on October 9th. In what everyone considers an upset, LeDuc pinned, the then Southern States Champion, Randall Shane in the middle of the ring. This is certainly someone to watch out for in 2010.

Speaking of Randall Shane, the former UCW Tag Team Champion and Southern States Champion hasn't been seen since his controversial loss in Glasgow, KY. However, we do understand that Shane is geared up and ready to step back into a UCW ring. We plan on sitting down with Randall Shane next week to conduct a one on one interview with the "Southern Kentucky Superstar."

In the where have they been section, Val Joiner hasn't been seen in UCW in almost three months. Apparently Joiner is serving a suspension handed down to him by both UCW Promoters, Terry England and Tommy Wright. What the suspension is over is not clear but we do look for Joiner to return to UCW action in January.

As we mentioned earlier with 2009 coming to a close it only means bigger things are ahead as far as 2010 is concerned. The first BIG thing for 2010 will be our annual "Caverna Supershow" which will celebrate it's thirteenth year next year. News on the "13th Annual Caverna Supershow" will be available very soon so please keep checking back.

Something else to check back for is the 2009 UCW Year End Awards. Starting next week, you the fans of UCW will be able to vote on your favorites in different categories. Those categories include; UCW Wrestler of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Tag Team of the Year, Match of the Year, Women of the Year, Show of the Year, Most Popular Wrestler, Most Hated Wrestler and Finisher of the Year. You will be able to vote on those starting on November 28th.

Again, UCW wants to thank you the wrestling fans for making 2009 one of the most successful years EVER for Ultimate Championship Wrestling!!!

Update 10/7/09

This coming weekend we make our debut in Lebanon Junction, KY and we return to Glasgow, KY for the first time in several years. First off is our debut at The Junction Jamboree in Lebanon Junction, KY this Friday night October 9th. Come out and welcome us and see what we are all about as we bring our exciting brand of wrestling action to the Louisville area. Doors for the event open at 7:00 PM eastern time with an 8 PM bell time. Admission is $10 at the door or you can save $2.00 and get your advance tickets for $8.00. The following night, Saturday October 10th, we make our long awaited return to Glasgow, KY. This is the first time that UCW has been in Glasgow in over 5 years. We debut at The Liberty District-Ralph Bunche Community Center. Doors for this event open at 7 PM with an 8 PM bell time. Admission again is $10 at the door or you can purchase advance tickets for $8.00. Come out and see TRUE professional wrestling return to Glasgow this Saturday night!

"Simply Marvelous" Mitch Ryder has returned to Ultimate Championship Wrestling. Mitch returned in Tompkinsville picking up a count out win over Val Joiner. However it was later in the night that Ryder would make his impact. During the tag team championship match between The Wild Boys and Southern Thunder, Mitch came out and pulled Randall Shane out of the ring and they brawled on the floor. Then later during the main event, Mitch came out and attacked Gary Valiant and left him laying. Mitch told the crowd that he was putting UCW and the fans on notice. He stated he was back and he was taking over. Only time will tell what Mitch Ryder has in store for Ultimate Championship Wrestling. He will get a Southern States title shot this Saturday night in Glasgow, KY when he faces Randall Shane.

The Bar Room Brawler also has returned to UCW after a couple months absence. In the first time in UCW history, The Brawler almost fell out of the UCW rankings. He returned this past Saturday night in Monticello, KY and gained a win in a 5-Way Elimination match in which he earned a UCW Ultimate title match later in the night. What an impressive return for The Bar room Brawler. He will now go on to team with JD Thunder against The Wild Boys for the UCW Tag Team Championship this coming Saturday night in Glasgow, KY.

"The Celtic Kid" Dyron Flynn made his UCW singles debut in Monticello with a loss to Val Joiner. However that match didn't go unnoticed by UCW Officials as Flynn impressed many in UCW management. Negotiations are currently under way to bring Dyron Flynn back to a UCW ring very soon.

One has to wonder who is going to be next in line for a UCW Ultimate Championship title shot. "Bone Crusher" Jeff Crowe has turned back the challenges of recent contenders which is what helps make him the first 10 time UCW champion. With The Bar Room Brawler returning to action and Mitch Ryder back in UCW as well, Crowe may have a long list of contenders soon. Also you have to count into effect that Randall Shane who is the current Southern States Champion has yet to receive a championship match. JD Thunder who won the 2009 King of the Squared Circle Battle Royal which allows him to get a championship shot at anytime he wants has yet to cash in his chance. Plus, you know Justin Sane has to have his sights set on regaining some gold in UCW and Val Joiner has been on a hot streak lately as well. Gary Valiant who has received several shots over the past couple months has yet to pull out the win so, "The Boogie Woogie Boy" I am sure would like one more shot. It looks like the UCW Board of Directors and the Championship Committee has a lot to consider in deciding the next challenger for Jeff Crowe's Ultimate Championship.

Update 9/12/09

UCW will not be returning to The Factory in Cave City. We are moving our Cave City area shows to Saturday nights in Glasgow. There are many reasons for this move and the address will be posted soon. We are not able to announce the location until the Kentucky Boxing Wrestling Association has it posted on their website. So stay tuned for this information.

Now as to why we are moving. We are looking to bring in bigger and better shows to the area and we can't do that on Saturday at The Factory so we are changing the location and it will only be about 10 miles or so from The Factory. This will enable UCW to have bigger crowds and better shows since we will have full control over the new building. Our concession stand will be back and we will be tearing down the house in Glasgow. UCW will be adding names to the roster and there will be many changes that our loyal fans will appreciate. We are looking forward to the new building and can't wait to see all of our fans there.

Update 9/9/09

A lot of news coming out of this past weekends events. We have a new Ultimate Champion, new Tag Team Champions, Jon Roc is gone from UCW, Vic returned and more!

"The Bone Crusher" Jeff Crowe is OUR new UCW Ultimate Champion after defeating "Prodigy" Jon Roc this past Friday night at The Factory in Cave City, KY. In what was supposed to be a non-title grudge match was turned into a UCW Ultimate Championship match with Loser Leaves UCW ramifications. It all started when Jon Roc interrupted Terry England and started running down the Cave City crowd and Jeff Crowe. This brought out Jon's opponent for the night and Jeff somehow talked Jon into putting the title on the line with the added stipulations that whoever lost would be gone from UCW. Once the match was agreed upon by both competitors and Terry England approved it, the fans only had to wait about an hour to see a new champion crowned.

This was one of the best matches in UCW in recent memory. Several near pins that had the crowd on their feet throughout the match. In the end, it was Jeff Crowe who nailed Jon Roc with his hard hitting lariat and was able to gain the 3 count and the UCW Ultimate Championship. A big congratulations goes out to Jeff Crowe.

After the match we got little word from the former champion, Jon Roc who was outraged and blame the referee and Terry England. Jon did say that this wasn't the last time he would be seen. He said he was going to get with his attorneys and the UCW Board of Directors because a contract was not signed for this type of match. However as of right now, the decision stands and Jon Roc is gone from UCW.

Jeff Crowe wasn't the only person to win gold on Friday night at The Factory in Cave City. The Wild Boys, Ben Jordan & Steve Neely, returned to UCW and became 4 time UCW Tag Team Champions when they defeated Val Joiner and Aaron Genesis. It was earlier in the night after a win over Charles Colton and Gary Jones that Joiner and Genesis issued a challenge. They said that from this point on they would defend the titles in only 15 Minute time limit matches. They stated the reason for doing so was because no other champion would dare defend their title in under 15 minutes. They also said reason for doing so was because they knew nobody could beat them in 15 minutes. So, Terry England told them they would have their first chance later in the evening.

It was The Wild Boys who Terry had hand picked to face Joiner and Genesis and the crowd went wild, no pun intended, as soon as they came through the door. Jordan and Neely gained the victory and the titles which prompted Joiner and Genesis to cry like babies and get in Terry England's face. However, the following night in Monticello, KY the fans would have a different take on The Wild Boys.

After a victory over Val Joiner & Dream Weaver and JD Thunder & Justin Sane, The Wild Boys attacked Thunder & Sane. Val Joiner even came back out to help with the onslaught against Sane. Randall Shane came out to make the save which forced The Wild Boys and Val Joiner to flew the ring. The Wild Boys got on the mic and talked about how cheap the fans were and how they liked JD Thunder and others but didn't give them a chance. It was then made clear that Val Joiner paid The Wild Boys off to take out Justin Sane & JD Thunder. The Wild Boys told Randall Shane that he needed to think before getting into this was. Shane told JD that he wouldn't have to find a partner for October 3rd in Monticello. He said that it was time that Southern Thunder got their return title match for the UCW Tag Team titles. Justin Sane then added that October 3rd would be the last time that anyone would see any sign of life from Val Joiner.

Speaking of Randall Shane and JD Thunder. This past Friday night Shane defended his Southern States championship against his tag team partner in a great back and forth match. In the end, Shane got the win in controversial fashion. However, Randall Shane told JD Thunder he would grant him a rematch on September 26th when we invade Tompkinsville, KY.

Vic The Bruiser returned to UCW in Cave City. He battled "The Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant which saw Valiant pick up the victory but was left laying. I am sure this one isn't over in UCW.

The ladies saw action all weekend long during the UCW shows. Both night's Sinn-D gained victories against the UCW Women's Champion, Amanda Ruffen. However, Ruffen got herself counted out both nights on purpose. The UCW Board of Directors are working on getting a rematch signed between the two for a future event.

UCW returns to action on Saturday night September 26th in Tompkinsville, KY at The National Guard Armory. Doors open at 7 PM with an 8 PM bell time. Admission is $8 advance or $10 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at The Armory until the day of the event. Already signed for 9-26 is a Southern States Championship Rematch featuring Randall Shane defending the title against JD Thunder. More matches will be announced this week.

Update 8/21/09

He is known state wide as one of the world's most dangerous men. He has wrecked havoc in every promotion he is competed in. A decorated champion who had held numerous championships throughout his career and throughout various promotions. Controversy is his middle name. Every where he goes he leaves vicious intimidating  carnage. He was a founding member of one of Southern Kentucky's most fearing stables, The New Age Gangstas. Now, on Friday night September 4th in Cave City, Kentucky at The Factory he returns to Ultimate Championship Wrestling. His name strikes fear into his opponents and fans alike. His name is "The Notorious" Vic The Bruiser!

On Friday night Sept. 4th at The Factory in Cave City, KY, "The Notorious" Vic The Bruiser will do battle with one of UCW's most popular stars in "The Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant. These two men are not strangers but, it is the first time in several years that these two will do battle in a UCW ring. To think of what this could mean for the winner. If Valiant comes out victorious this defiantly means another title shot down the road for the son of a legend. If Vic pulls off the win he would surely be considered for a championship match by the UCW Championship Committee. After returning to UCW after over a years absence and gaining a win against the former UCW Ultimate Champion, Vic will defiantly leave his mark. Find out at The Factory on Friday night September 4th what will happen when these two stars collide!

With a loaded night of action in just under 2 weeks, what else could make September 4th even bigger? Well, UCW knows what. We are currently in negotiations with one of UCW's most popular tag teams of all time about making a special appearance in Cave City. Not only are they one of UCW's most popular tag teams but one of Tennessee's as well. Stay tuned to the UCW website and follow us on Twitter for more as it becomes available.

The UCW Women's Championship will be defended in Cave City as well. The newly crowned champion, Amanda Ruffen will defend her title against the former champion, Sin-D. Will we found out more about the mysterious person who helped Amanda win the championship from Sin-D? Who was this person? Hopefully we will get more answers on September 4th.

Southern Thunder is considered by many to be UCW's top tag team of 2009. They dominated the tag team scene in UCW ever since being paired up by co-winning a battle royal back in February. Even since losing the tag team titles to Aaron Genesis and Val Joiner back in July, the former champs are still gaining wins in various different promotions and single wins as well in UCW. Now, we will see Southern Thunder battle each other on September 4th in Cave City. The Southern States Champion, Randall Shane will defend the title against his tag team partner, "The Southern Outlaw" JD Thunder. This match was supposed to take place on August 7th but due to an attack on JD Thunder by Joiner & Genesis two days before, Thunder was unable to make the event. With tag team gold still set in their focus, the two partners have promised to steal the show on September 4th showing how important the Southern States championship is.

One of the biggest stories of 2009 that has had UCW officials and fans alike in awe is the splitting of former best friends Jon Rock & Jeff Crowe. We have covered this story so many times in the past but it still seems to be getting stronger as the weeks go by. Now on September 4th these two men will battle in a Non-Title grudge match. This is a match that will surely be interesting.

Weeks ago we spoke about UCW's invasion of Tennessee. Our event on Saturday night September 12th in Jamestown, TN has been moved to Saturday night November 14th in Jamestown, TN at The National Guard Armory. The reason for the delay is due to the guard being activated. However, the contracts are signed and UCW will be in Jamestown, TN on Saturday night November 14th. This will be a fundraiser for the local American Legion Post in Jamestown. More information on this event will be available soon. Keep checking back.

On Saturday night September 5th UCW will return to Monticello, KY at The National Guard Armory. Doors for this event open at 7:00 PM with an 8:00 PM EST bell time. Admission is $8.00 at the door. More information on this event will be available this week. Look for all your favorite UCW stars to be in action in Monticello, KY.

We head back to Tompkinsville, KY on Saturday night September 26th at The National Guard Armory. Doors open at 7:00 PM with an 8 PM bell time. Admission is $8.00 at the door. Again, all your favorite UCW stars will be in action including Justin Sane, Southern Thunder, Jeff Crowe, Jon Roc and more!

Update 8/8/09

We have new Women's Champion in UCW! Amanda Ruffen beat Sin-D this past Friday night at The Factory in Cave City, KY to become the new title holder. Amanda is now a 2-time UCW Women's champion after just making her UCW debut only a couple months ago. The big story is how Amanda won the championship. Sin-D had the match going her way and almost picked up the victory when a mysterious woman appeared at ringside and helped Amanda gain the victory. Not much is known at the moment as UCW Security quickly intervened and escorted the woman out of the building. UCW Referee Alvin Redmon tried catching the lady outside to find out what was going on but she was nowhere to be found. After the match Amanda Ruffen had no comment about the situation. I guess we will find out on September 4th in Cave City when Sin-D gets her rematch.

Val Joiner cashed in his title shot that he earned back in June in Monticello, KY. Joiner proclaimed that he was going to add more gold to his collection and become the NEW UCW Southern States champion. Randall Shane saw it differently. Shane ended up picking up the win after hitting his "Tomakaze" finisher for the three count. Shane's original opponent and tag team partner, JD Thunder was unable to make the event thanks to actions by Val Joiner & Aaron Genesis this past Wednesday night in Union City, TN at a Southern Pro Wrestling event. JD had just won a match against The Arabian Assassin #2 when Joiner and Genesis ran out and attacked Thunder dislocating his shoulder. Thunder has vowed payback against The Young Guns when he returns to UCW in September.

Teacher -vs- Student matches aren't uncommon in professional wrestling. Even in UCW we have seen several Teacher -vs- Student matches. However, the recent series of Teacher -vs- Student matches between Jeff Crowe and UCW Ultimate Champion, Jon Roc are a different story. It all started when Jeff Crowe won a title shot against Chase Stevens back in the Spring. Jon Roc then became on edge so to speak wondering when and if his teacher was going to challenge him for the belt. Jeff had told Jon he wasn't going to cash in and if he did he would let him know a head of time. Jon didn't believe Jeff and knowing the target he had on his head being the UCW Ultimate champion, Jon didn't think he could trust his teacher. It would go as far as during a series of tag team championship matches against Southern Thunder, Jon and Jeff would begin to argue on the outside costing the the match and possibly the titles. It didn't stop there. Jeff would help Jon regain his UCW Championship but, when Jon would go to help Jeff win a match, it would backfire.

Jeff finally decided he was going to cash in his title shot during the Hardin County Fair. Jeff won the match by reverse decision but not the title. So, UCW officials granted Jeff another title shot during the Western KY State Fair. This time, Jeff got himself disqualified and cost himself the championship. So, one more match was signed for the Oldham County Fair in LaGrange, KY. Jon Roc pinned Jeff in that match and again walked out as the UCW Ultimate Champion. Jon thought it was over. But it was not. This past Friday night Jeff Crowe got another title shot in a "Fatal 4-Way Elimination" match which also involved Aaron Genesis and Gary Valiant. It came down to Jon Roc and Jeff Crowe. Once again, Jon Roc snuck out with the gold. We are going to try and get words from Jeff Crowe this week and when we do you will hear what he has to say about the UCW Ultimate Championship and his ongoing was with his student, Jon Roc.

Last week we announced that UCW would be coming to Nashville, TN and The Sports Arena. That event was part of the Comic City Comic & Horror Convention in October. The wrestling portion of the show, Reality Rumble III: Comic City Carnage, was to be presented by a group called Entertainer's That Care. UCW was only renting out our ring and sending some of our stars to the event. However, we were informed Friday afternoon that the wrestling portion of the event was canceled. Again, this was not a UCW promoted event. For more information on the cancellation please visit www.entertainersthatcare.com.

UCW is gearing up for a BIG September. We hit Cave City, Monticello and Tompkinsville, KY and Jamestown, TN in the month of September. So UCW fans be ready because UCW is about to break the barrier. News on our Jamestown, TN event will be coming soon.

After getting off to a hot start it seems that "Marvelous" Mitch Ryder has left Ultimate Championship Wrestling. Was it because Aaron Genesis and Val Joiner got the upset win in LaGrange, KY? I guess we will never now. UCW wishes Mitch Ryder the best in his future endeavors.

Over the past several weeks closed door meetings have been happening within the UCW offices. Currently we do not know what or who these meetings are about but we do understand it has to do with something big that will make an impact within UCW. As soon as we find out you will find out here in the News Center.

Update 8/2/09

It's hard to believe it is already August. I know we say it over and over again but, look at the year UCW has had so far. We had a tremendous crowd in Horse Cave, KY back in February that featured Jerry "The King" Lawler. We have hit new towns and have seen new talent come in and old talent return. Several title changes within 2009 that saw Randall Shane capture tag team gold and singles gold within 4 months. Shane and JD Thunder have dominated the tag team scene in UCW during 2009 until Hopkinsville, KY when Aaron Genesis and Val Joiner beat them for the gold. However, I am sure that book isn't over just yet.

Look at what has transpired between best friends Jeff Crowe and Jon Rock. We have seen the likes of John Noble, Eddie Browning and Scott Hayes come and go from UCW. "Simply Marvelous" Mitch Ryder  and "The Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Vailaint have made an impact and "The Natural" Chase Stevens has returned. With all of that said, the year isn't over and I can't wait to see what happens!

UCW returns to Cave City at The Factory this coming Friday night. Doors open at 6:30 PM with an 8 PM bell time. Admission is $10 at the door or $8 in advance. When Shane won the title in E-Town, KY at The Hardin County Fair he told JD Thunder he would grant him a title match. That title match happens this Friday night!

Also at The Factory this Friday night, "The Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant is out for revenge against 1/2 of the UCW Tag Team Champions, Aaron Genesis. Genesis is the reason Valiant isn't the UCW Ultimate Champion and Boogie isn't happy. "Simply Marvelous" Mitch Ryder returns to Cave City on Friday as he see's singles action against "The Bonecrusher" Jeff Crowe. This could be a major win for Mitch if he can pin the most decorated champion in UCW history. Justin Sane will go one on one as he takes on Val Joiner in singles action as well. Update 7/12/09

What a start to the UCW Summer Spectacular Tour! Last Tuesday night in Elizabethtown, KY the stars of UCW were on hand for The Hardin County Fair. What a great night of wrestling action we had. In the first shock of the night, "The Southern Kentucky Superstar" Randall Shane beat Aaron Genesis to win the Southern States championship. Genesis had won the title the previous Friday night in Cave City, KY when he beat both Val Joiner and then Justin Sane in singles action. Randall Shane had won a Battle Royal to decide the #1 Contender to the title for this fair show. Then, in probably the upset of the night. newcomer Amanda Ruffin became the NEW UCW Women's Champion when she beat Sin-D. Although Amanda had a little bit of help with her feet on the ropes, she did walk away from The Hardin County Fair with the gold. The fans kept chanting rematch but, the new champion would not oblige. Later in the night Justin Sane got an outstanding win against "The Natural" Chase Stevens to earn a future UCW Ultimate title shot. Jeff Crowe was unable to gain the UCW Ultimate title from Jon Rock but did pick up the win by reverse decision. Then, in an impromtu match, UCW Tag Team Champion Southern Thunder gained a victory over the newly formed alliance of Aaron Genesis and Val Joiner.

From there we headed to The Western KY State Fair this past Friday night July 10th, in Hopkinsville, KY. Another jammed packed crowd witnessing a great night of UCW Wrestling. The BIG news coming away from this show is again TWO titlw changes. Miss Sin-D regained the UCW Women's title from Amanda Ruffin who made Miss Jessie Bell in her corner. However, former fitness model, Miss April Hunter was the special guest referee for this match. Then in our tag team main event, Val Joiner & Aaron Genesis became the NEW UCW Tag Team Champions when they defeated JD Thunder and Randall Shane aka Southern Thunder. When asked for thoughts on their win, the new champions said it was meant to be and that the Genesis/Joiner era has begun. Their bodyguard "Big" Seth LeDuc was barred from ringside. The former champs said that they will address the situation on August 7th in Cave City, KY.

JD Thunder walked away from The Western KY State Fair as the 2009 King of the Squared Circle. With the win, Thunder recieved $500 and will get a future title shot.

With the title in his grasps, Jeff Crowe was disqualified in his title match against Jon Rock. Crowe will recieve one more match on July 22nd in LaGrange, KY at The Oldham County Fair.

We saw several new faces come into UCW at The Western KY State Fair and some old faces as well. Mitch Ryder, LT Falk and Shane Smalls returned to UCW and Dyron Flynn, Tommy Knight, and The White Tiger each made their UCW debuts. I am sure we will see more of these young up and comers in the future.

In October, UCW will be teaming up with Entertainers That Care for the thrid annual Reality Rumble: Comic City Carnage. This years event takes place at The Nashville Fairgrounds in Nasvhille, TN on Saturday October 17th and will be a part of the annual Comic City Convention. Bell time for the event is at 4:00 PM. The main event will be a Tennessee Tornado Tag Team match featuring The Naturals (Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas) taking on The Flock (Scotty Riggs & Sick Boy.) Also on the show will be UCW Ultimate Champion, "Prodigy" Jon Rock, "Bonecrusher" Jeff Crowe, Justin Sane, and Randall Shane. More information on this event will be coming soon so please stay tuned!

Update 6/18/09

Alot of news and ongoings in UCW so, let's get started.

UCW is in the middle of one of it's hottest years ever. We want to thank all the fans who have come out so far this year to support Ultimate Championship Wrestling. We have broken several records this year and we are only half way through 2009. As we enter the Summer months UCW, as always, slows down a bit to let the fans enjoy the outside weather. But, that doesn't mean the UCW office is slowing down. We have some big things planned for the second half of 2009 and you don't want to miss it. Bigger shows, new towns and some old and new faces alike will be making their way to UCW soon. Keep checking our website and MySpace page for any news or updates. Again, thank you all the UCW fans for supporting us and making us Kentucky's #1 independent wrestling promotion. If it isn't UCW Wrestling then it doesn't matter!

We have a new UCW Women's Champion. Sin-D has returned to Ultimate Championship Wrestling and defeated Diane Von Hoffman in her return match for the UCW Women's title. Hoffman won the title back in February of this year at The Caverna Supershow by defeating April Hunter. While Diane was in a fued with Miss Jessie Belle, Sin-D returned and surprised everyone by winning the title. We congragulate Miss Sin-D and anticipate the challengers who will try to dethrone her.

Speaking of returns, several old faces have popped up again in UCW Wrestlng. "The Southern Kentucky Superstar" Randall Shane, Val Joiner and Aaron Genesis have all returned to UCW after some time away. It has been nearly 7 years since we last saw Randall Shane in a UCW ring. He returned and quickly won gold as well. He was in a Battle Royal back in April in which the last two men would be named UCW Tag Team Champions. He won the Battle Royal along side JD Thunder. At first the two had their differences but now seem to be seeing eye to eye. It could be a good run for the team collectively known as Southern Thunder. Val Joiner hasn't seen UCW action in almost a year and a half. He returned in May of this year and has been on a hot streak lately. The latest return was Aaron Genesis. The man who calls himself "The New Testament of Wrestling" returned on June 5th in Cave City and got a surprising win over Randall Shane. Genesis vows to win the reinstated Southern States title. Who else could return to UCW in 2009? Only time will tell.

Along with returns unfortunately there were some releases. Big Daddy Slash, Country Cousin Jimbo and Diane Von Hoffman have all been released by UCW.

The big news coming out of last weekends double shot was the Jack Daniels is now gone from UCW. We do understand that his attorney is looking into the contract that was signed for his "Loser Leaves Town" matches with Doug Vines. One thing is for sure, Doug Vines is glad to finally get rid of Jack Daniels. Maybe he will now shifted his eyes toward the UCW Ultimate Championship.

Speaking of the UCW Ultimate Championship, "Prodigy" Jon Rock has been on a roll lately as well. He has been turning back all challenges across the region and even beat "Marvelous" Mitch Ryder at the last Cave City show. However, there seems to be a kink in the Rock and Crowe alliance. More of this in the coming days in the "Get The Scoop" column.

It is Summer time which means hot days, cookouts, and County Fairs. In return that means UCW Wrestling action is coming to a town near you. The 2009 UCW Summer Fair Shows will be hot and heavy and full of action. Tuesday night July 7th we will be in E-Town, Kentucky at The Hardin County Fair. Bell time is at 8 PM EST. Then we hit the Western Kentucky State Fair on Friday night July 10th in Hopkinsville, KY. This show will take place at the Convention Center and will be AIR CONDITIONED! Doors open at 5:45 PM with a 7 PM bell time. Then we head to LaGrange, KY at The Oldham County Fair on Wednesday July 22nd. Bell time is at 8 PM EST. Cards and appearances for these shows will be posted soon.

UCW returns to action on Friday Night July 3rd at The Factory in Cave City, KY. Doors open at 7 PM with an 8 PM bell time. Admission is $10 at the door. You will see the semi-finals and finals of the Southern States Title Tournament plus, "Prodigy" Jon Rock will defend the UCW Ultimate Championship against "The Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant w/ Miss Boogie! Make your plans now to attend this event.
